Interests

My research focuses on computer systems and security. I am interested in how we can design systems that are secure, reliable, and easier to understand and manage. Much of my work looks at how we can better observe the behaviour of computer systems, detect when something has gone wrong, and understand the causes of security incidents. I also study how operating systems and cloud infrastructure can be made safer and more efficient.

More broadly, my goal is to develop practical security techniques that can be deployed in real systems and that help both users and operators understand and trust the technology they rely on.

Students looking to work with me can find more information on my personal website.

Biography

I joined the University of Oxford and Brasenose College in September 2026 as an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Tutorial Fellow in Computer Science. Before Oxford, I was an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia from 2021 to 2026 and at the University of Bristol from 2018 to 2021. Earlier, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University, a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, and a Junior Research Fellow at St Edmund’s College, Cambridge. I received my MPhil and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, where I was supervised by Prof. Jean Bacon. Before entering academia, I studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering in France.
